International Equitable Remuneration
How it works
Each country or territory sets its own tariffs and develops its distribution methodologies. Soproq has reciprocal agreements with SCPP in France and SIMIM in Belgium, ensuring the representation of your repertoire in these territories. Soproq is also a member at SoundExchange and thus collects directly royalties in the United States. Furthermore, Soproq benefits through Re:sound from several reciprocal agreements in various territories.
Sound recordings and makers eligibility
Canada being a party to the Rome Convention and the WIPO Performances and Phonograms Treaty (WPPT), sound recordings eligible to equitable remuneration in Canada are, on a reciprocal basis, also eligible for such remuneration in all other signatory countries of these acts. This to the extent that a tariff applies for an equivalent use.
