Description

This license authorizes the reproduction of sound recordings for use as background music in public places. For example:

  • restaurants
  • bars
  • retail stores
  • hotels
  • "corporate" radio services

To apply for a license, please fill out our interactive online form which will be sent directly to our Licensing Department. Once received, we will contact you as soon as possible.

Background Music Supply Services

Rate

  • Guaranteed annual advance
  • For Services without advertising: the greater of 6$ per system* or subscriber or locale, per month or 15% of gross revenues from the authorized service, prorated to the Soproq repertoire.
    (Minimum of 2.50$ per system or subscriber or locale per month)
  • For Services with advertising: the greater of 8$ per system* or subscriber of locale, per month or 20% of gross revenues of the authorized service, prorated to the Soproq repertoire.
    (Minimum of 3.35$ per system or subscriber or locale per month)

*« System » is defined as any type of device used for receiving and/or broadcasting the music supplied by the authorized service, including personal computers, terminals, jukeboxes, etc.

General terms

  • Valid for 12 months, renewable automatically
  • The license covers only sound recordings represented by Soproq
  • Licensee is responsible for obtaining the musical content
  • Licensee is responsible for paying all other applicable tariffs (public performance, musical works, etc.)
  • Synchronization is not permitted
  • Licensee is responsible for providing all required reporting: financial report for fee calculation and songs report in EXCEL format

Establishment

Rate

  • 100$ per year

If you are an establishment, you may be interested in a Background Music Supply Service Provider who fulfills all rights and responsibilities and offers its clients an All-in-One option.

General terms
